Promoting Local Sports Clubs With Sponsorships

The wind farms in Loeriesfontein have teamed up with local sports clubs, including netball and soccer, to enhance community cohesiveness. This collaboration includes sponsoring sports gear through a partnership with a local black-owned business, contributing to the economic growth of the area.

"We recognise the importance of sports and supporting local sports clubs as a means of fostering community cohesion. By partnering with sports clubs, we aim to provide opportunities for young sport participants to excel and contribute positively to the community," said Vanessa Fredericks, Economic Development Manager for Loeriesfontein and Khobab Wind Farms.

The collaboration saw the wind farms extend the sponsorship to Ramblers Netball Club and five local soccer clubs, including Kakken Bulls, Dream Team, Extreme Stars, AJAX FC Loeriesfontein, and Rasta Malan.

"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Loeriesfontein and Khobab Wind Farms for their generous sponsorship of our sports equipment and attire. These contributions are invaluable during both training sessions and matches. This sponsorship not only benefits our team but also aids in the expansion and progression of football within Loeriesfontein," said Heinrich Irion, the captain of the Dream Team.

The sponsored items included netball dresses and netball sneakers for the Ramblers Netball Club, along with soccer gear for each player, and goalkeeper for all five soccer clubs. Additionally, each female netball player received a tracksuit, with all the kits customised with their personal club names.

Through initiatives like these, we aim to contribute to the broader community development goals of Loeriesfontein, creating a positive impact on society while enhancing the love of sports within the youth.
